Diamonds for Peace (DFP) exhibited at the Yokohama International Festival (YIF) 2018 on 8th October, the last day of a three-day holiday weekend. YIF is one of the most popular events in Yokohama City based on the concept of international cooperation and multicultural coexistence.
DFP was joined in our exhibition booth by two employees from The Body Shop as DFP had been previously granted an award from The Body Shop Japan Fund 2018. The Body Shop also provided complimentary hand care treatment and products. For the hand treatment visitors were able to select their favorite oils or hand cream from the donated products. While providing the hand care therapy to the visitors, we introduced the activity of DFP and explained about the concept of “fair trade” that both DFP and THE BODY SHOP have been committed to. We learned a lot from the Body Shop staff, especially their communication skills and how they made people feel comfortable and relaxed. Because we had many visitors stop at our booth for the hand care treatment, DFP was able to spread the word about our activities and our commitment to many people.
