* Plant Trees, Empower Communities, and Transform * Plant Trees, Empower Communities, and Transform Lives in Liberia! 💎🌱 At Diamonds for Peace, we’re turning diamond mining into a force for good by fostering sustainable livelihoods and protecting Liberia’s vital forests - part of the Guinean Forest of West Africa, a biodiversity hotspot. For just $12, you can plant a tree, fight against climate change, and protect a precious ecosystem. Your donation will enable artisanal miners to increase their income through sustainable forestry practices (eg. growing seedlings, regular watering, and the produce they can grow), helping them to obtain legal mining licenses to sell their diamonds on the legitimate market. This will not only reduce illegal mining and diamond smuggling but also provided a more sustainable livelihood for miners and their families. 🎁 All donors receive a personalized tree certificate and photo. * On this Human Rights Day, we reflect on Article * On this Human Rights Day, we reflect on Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which affirms: "Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of themselves and their family, including food, clothing, housing, medical care, and necessary social services, as well as security in cases of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age, or other circumstances beyond their control." In Liberia’s impoverished mining regions, Diamonds for Peace works to help communities understand these rights and take steps toward achieving them.
